Matthews Asia Expands Its Fund Range

, an Asia-only investment firm, has expanded its Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS fund range.

The new Matthews Asia Focus Fund managed by Kenneth Lowe gives investors exposure to a high conviction portfolio of Asian companies. Lowe is supported in his role by J. Michael Oh and and Sharat Shroff.

The fund invests in medium or large capitalisation companies and hold stocks of between 25 to 35 companies.

“Given the economic developments over the past decade, Asia now provides investors with a growing pool of established companies with good corporate governance, strong management teams, medium to long operating histories and that are recognized as global or regional leaders in their industry,” said Lowe. 

"We believe these companies would meet the high standards required for inclusion within a high-conviction portfolio that would appeal to more risk-tolerant investors looking to gain exposure to an active Asian equity strategy.”

The Matthews Asia Focus strategy has been available to investors in the US since 2013.

Matthews Asia has $25.0 billion (£15 billion) in assets under management.
